  • The reviews from years ago are definitely outdated, this is a fantastic school. We absolutely love LMA and the diverse community. We have had our four year old in a couple of different Montessori programs before finding LMA after a move. All the guides we have met are very experienced and they run outstanding programs all throughout the year. The classrooms are huge and bright, the cafeteria is always clean and children are always very well behaved while they are eating the organically prepared fresh food. My daughter loves the extras like the yoga and ballet classes. I love the fact that anytime we have had the slightest concern it is addressed quickly and thoroughly to our satisfaction. We have been here for almost a year now and I would confidently recommend LMA to anyone looking for a great Montessori program.

The classroom for young toddlers is big, well organized but it's quite worn and shabby. The doors and walls need a new coat of paint and the floors/carpets need to be scrubbed. We like the lead teacher in our son's classroom but up until last month, there were 3 different part time assistants that help out in the classroom. And now, the current lead teacher is moving out to start a new classroom while the new assistant takes over. This all happened in the five months we were there. Our son constantly ask for more food when I pick him up at the end of the day which makes me wonder if he's getting enough to eat. The "daily sheet" that we receive is supposed to inform us about our son's daily activity but it's really a piece of paper with check boxes that the teacher quickly ticked through and the only useful information is his nap time (which we often wonder whether it's accurate) and poop/pee time. Nothing about his skills development or relationship with his classmates. Since we started there, we've only received one personal update from the teacher via email and one face to face update during a quarterly parent:teacher conference. We also find the teachers don't give us any verbal update when we drop off or pick up our sonunless we ask very specific questions. When we asked "how is he doing today", we often get " he's doing very well"! No specifics! Given that this school is one of the most expensive daycare in the area at 1900/month we somewhat expected a more personal response. So my wife and I had learned to asked more specific qs and demand more details from the teacher. Overall we think this is a decent school and we are glad our son is happy here but we are already looking to move him to another school once he turns 2.5-3 years old.

  • We have both of our daughters attending the Living Montessori community, one was at the Early Education and just transitioned to the Academy while the younger is currently at the Early Education. With both daughters we saw great development in all areas. They both enjoy going there every morning (My younger doesn't even look back to say goodbye...). Although there were some misunderstandings at the beginning regarding certain issues, the moment the gaps were clarified to the Living Montessori team, we found them to be very attentive and open to all of our sometimes peculiar requests, from special diets to cloth diapers through very early age potty training - all were well accepted and handled. Afrose is very involved in running the school and with her leadership team, creatively accommodated multiple challenges we encountered and were always very responsive to our questions and requests. We also found the extra curricular recreational program to be pretty comprehensive and fun for our daughters, they are even adding Capoeira classes pretty soon! All in all, I would highly recommend Living Montessori to any parent!
